GENERAL RULES

All Appaloosa foals bred in the breeding year of an APPsolute Sires Auction and sired by stallions sold in that year’s sale are eligible for nomination for the APPsolute Sires Futurity initiated by that year. (EX: foals sired by sold stallions in the 2022 APPsolute Sires Auction are eligible for the 2024 APPsolute Sires Futurity yearling classes, the 2025 APPsolute Sires Futurity two-year-old classes, etc.).

Beginning with 2026 APPsolute Sires Auction, foals sired by sold stallions are eligible for the 2028 APPsolute Sires Futurity yearling classes, the 2030 APPsolute Sires Futurity three-year-old classes, etc.

All eligible foals must be properly nominated to participate in the APPsolute Sires Futurity. The ApPHC must receive the required completed forms and all accompanying fees by the stated deadlines. Failure to meet this requirement results in a void nomination.

Only horses with a completed, paid nomination may enter an APPsolute Sires Futurity Class. Additionally, to enter an APPsolute Sires Futurity Class, an entry fee must be paid.

Owner and Exhibitor of an entered horse must be current members of the Appaloosa Horse Club (“ApHC”). All horses must be registered with ApHC.

Nomination fees are as follows:

$200 received by December 15th of the weanling year, OR
-
$400 received by May 15th of the yearling year.

After May 15th of the yearling year until the first day of the ApHC World Show of the year the horse is entered, a foal may be nominated for $1000.

(All grandfathered stallions must be paid in full by the first day of the ApHC world show of that year, prior to foal nomination.)

Beginning with 2027 foals (2026 sale)- 3 yr old Western Pleasure
Beginning with 2027 foals (2026 sale)- 3 yr old Hunter Under Saddle
ENTRY FEES
Entry Fees and Late Fees will be consistent with the due dates and late fees published by the Appaloosa Horse Club (“ApHC”) for each World Show.
A PER CLASS entry fee must be submitted on appsolutesires.com by 5 p.m. the day before the class to be accepted. Published late fees will apply.
Entry Fee per class: $400.00
No Refunds will be given in any case (death, injury, sale, etc.).
EXHIBITION
APPsolute Sires Futurity will be held each year at the ApHC World Championship Show. APPsolute Sires Futurity will be run according to ApHC Rules. Owner and Exhibitor of entered horse must be current members of ApHC. Back numbers issued by ApHC and all necessary paperwork (registration papers, negative coggins and a health certificate dated within thirty (30) days) must be filed with ApHC.
DRUG TESTING
All horses are subject to drug testing and must pay a drug fee before receiving a back number. APPsolute Sires Futurity Classes follow the drug rules and allowable levels set by current ApHC rules. Prize money will be distributed after drug test results are received. If a horse is tested positive, all prize money and awards will be forfeited and the horse will be considered disqualified. The cost of the drug testing will be collected by ApHC. Only one (1) drug testing fee per horse.
PRIZE MONEY (through 2029)
The prize money will come from three sources: all proceeds of the sale of the stallion services less one hundred dollars ($100) per stallion sold in the APPsolute Sires Auction, all foal nomination fees, and fifty percent (50%) of the entry fees will go toward the prize money.
The Prize Money shall be distributed into the Yearling Halter, Yearling Western Longe Line, Yearling Hunter Longe Line, 2 YO Western Pleasure, and the 2 YO Hunter Under Saddle class purses as follows:

Stallion Service Fees less the $100 per stallion and the foal nomination fees will be divided equally among the three disciplines: Halter, Hunt Seat, and Western.

Fifty percent (50%) of the entry fees collected for individual classes are paid back to that class.

The prize money will be split based on the entries paid in each class.

Each class payout will follow the published Payback Percentages
